Kernbeisser - King of the Finches

Another new bird came for breakfast at the bird feeder this morning. I was sure it must be a finch so it didn't take long to identify it. It is a female Hawfinch - its German name means 'seed biter' and it is aptly named because she spent about 10 minutes here biting on the sunflower seeds with her powerful beak.
