how it was in its heyday. Returned to the Walled Garden today and was delighted to find it was accessible! These Boxes, now about 3m tall in places would have been cms tall, separating the herbs. The walls , 5 and 6m tall would have had Apples, Pears and possibly Peaches trained up them. Today, seventy years since the gardener finished, all is overgrown and the Roe deer had secreted her fawn here, unfortunately disturbed, but it will probably return. 
The Bog cotton looked like snow today.
