Your flowers are watching you

Looking for flowers in our garden I saw the rhododendron and when I took my camera I had to take a second look. Was something looking at me from the blossom?
Many pairs of eyes, from a distance they looked like little worms or caterpillars or larvae. What this?
I put my +10 lens on top of my normal lens and went real close.  Now I could clearly see it were just the anthers (the ends of the stamen).

In the extra another flower, tiny (1,5 cm wide), but quite bright for its size.
