Sir Edwin Saunders
Day 58 - cycled to Wimbledon Common. Found the last blue plaque in London Borough of Merton. Sir Edwin Saunders (1814-1901) who was dentist to Queen Victoria. He was a dental surgeon and lecturer who became dentist to the Royal Family in 1846. He was president of the British Dental Association and founder of the Odontological Society. The plaque is on the gate post of a large gated house on Wimbledon Parkside . Much more traffic today. The area of Wimbledon Common by the pond very busy with young families but paths in the woods and around the Windmill were quieter.
