Colourful sky

Thursday
Another cold, grey day until the late afternoon. Sunny when we stood on the doorstep to clap. It did not seem so noisy tonight, no car horns or fog horns but it may be because the wind was in a different direction.
My Dad’s birthday so gave him a ring in the afternoon. He received two cards from us for some reason ,moon pig had sent it twice. The replacement barrel of flowers from M&S are now looking good. The first one I sent arrived up side down with all the flowers squashed and the soil dry and all over the place and in a tin bucket not a barrel. I sent a complaint and a replacement arrived a few days ago much better packaging and upright.
Saw a male and female bullfinch in the oak tree , really hoping they come down into the garden.
I had plucked up courage and decided it would be safe enough for me to go to the allotment especially after receiving a letter from the rheumatologist to say that I did not need to shield but to be extra careful with social distancing.
I got the blackberry and black currant bushes , potatoes and decorated stones already. Got in the car and Mike could not get it to start. The battery seemed ok so wondering if it might be the starter motor. Oh well, I’ll go another day.
Mike managed to move it out of the way so he could get the other car out and now thinks it probably is the battery so he’s ordered one from Halfords which is open for click and collect.I know we are not supposed to use the car but Mike usually picks up some shopping when he’s out and calls into the allotment on the way back.
Seems that people are now driving miles in England to go for a walk or meet up with one other person from a different household. Scotland is sticking by the Stay at Home rule which seems sensible seeing as the number of new cases and deaths is still quite high.
The sky became very dramatic as the sun set. Amazing to watch the colourful clouds move quickly across the sky. I thought the dark clouds at the bottom looked like a horse :)
