We picked up our new car today - hooray!

I hope you can hear the Beach Boys music in the background. Or maybe that's just me.

This first purchase is the family car - a big gas-guzzling SUV monster of a boy's car. There's a display that shows you how much fuel you're using. We drove over Highway 17 to return the rental car, and on the uphill stretch it showed 17mpg. Why would the car designers even put that right up there in front of you?! There ought to be an electronic version of covering your ears and singing 'la la la la la'. Need to figure out how to switch that thing off...
