Lingfield Road - No 4 of an Occasional Series
Cold and overcast this morning so opted to continue with the Lingfield Road Story.
The initial street numbering on the East side commenced with nbrs 31, 33 and 35 which formed a shop and apartments on the corner of Charlwoods Road. These were demolished in the 1960s with a modern brick-built equivalent. There then follows a run of semi-detached villas numbered from 35 to 51. They're all built in the same style - side front door, large bay window on the ground floor and a single large window on the upper floor. Their builder left a remarkable feature, presumably as his 'trade mark' of a neat row of paterae running along the front.
