Silly Saturday...

I wondered why my Editor had decided to hang all the clothes pegs on the line - had she forgotten to peg the clothes on too? Had lockdown finally got to her? Or was she being really silly- very kindly so, to give me fodder for today's silly blip?

In fact it seems she wasn't really being silly at all.  This week we had the final episode in the long-drawn-out saga of having all our roof sections replaced. Last summer we had the main roof done, and earlier this year we had the bay window roofs done but the final piece, the utility room, got postponed in March by the lockdown. With the slight easing of the lockdown this week, the roofing lads finally came to do this. We keep a basket of pegs in the utility room and the hammering on the roof caused a lot of dust to fall into the basket. So they needed washing, and the easiest way to ensure that they were dry before putting them away was to hang them on the line.

(PS I'm wondering now if we should have arranged them according to the colours of a rainbow, to celebrate our lockdown heroes...how silly of me not to think of that at the time!))
