It might not look very sturdy
but you can hide your anxieties in it.

You can drop them in from a great height
if you want to.

In fact, you can throw in anything 
that’s bothering you.

Might work for you.

Out of sight out of mind perhaps?

But, whatever else you do,
give yourself a break
and put in that deep longing you have
to hug your grandchildren.

I know that’s
been giving you some grief.

Imagine you’ve placed it in storage.
Safe storage.

You’ll be able
to get it out again
once the time is right.

It won’t have diminished.
