Sunday morning

This morning for prayers we sat in the sunroom. The side windows open, the birds singing happily. One oriole flew by and then four bright yellow finches followed. It was good to sit and listen and see and pray together.

We’ve been together for thirty five years, Lauralea and I. Many ups and downs. But we’ve done it together. Well, most of it anyway. But one of the good things we’ve done is pray together. No not as much as probably we could have done. And more would have always been better. But it’s one of the things that has helped shape us together.

That’s advice I give our kids and anyone else willing to listen.

It just does change things when God’s in the story, someplace.
