Udumbara flower

This is a photo taken at a friend's house of Udumbara flowers.

These flowers are said to appear once every three thousand years; and according to Buddhist scripture, they signify the arrival of someone great who rectifies the Dharma in the world.

The first reported sighting of this flower was in Korea in 1997.
