My favourite.

As this rose was planted in the 1950’s by the previous occupants of the farm I have no idea what this variety is. All I know is that it is a stunner and has a very lovey fragrance too. The roses are all beginning to bloom and before long there will will a fabulous display of colour. Global warming has over the past few years brought the first flowering forward by at least two weeks I think, but with the lovely weather the roses enhance the ‘job’ of sitting outside enjoying a cup of tea!

As we enter out 8th week of isolation it is strange how used to a different way of life you get so quickly. The silly life we usually lead has stopped completely and for the first time in a very long time I am not on my ‘Hamster” wheel!  I could really get used to this.

But the truth is that the future is very uncertain in so many ways and sadly there will be huge mountains to climb once the lockdown is over. With a shattered economy to piece together again the good times will be long gone for a while I suspect.  But if we can survive and remain here I’m not too sure I would want anything else. The good times will be here at home of our own making. A simpler but possibly more satisfying life maybe.  We shall see...........
