Rock and a hard place

There is a 'rock garden' growing where people deposit painted stones. I go by regularly to see the new recruits. This is one of the latest.

My sister tells me giraffe are nervous creatures. I relate to their skittish nature, being sensitive to being frowned upon or offending unintentionally. It's especially prevalent now where sometimes I have to choose whether to be two metres away from somebody, or two metres in a car's path.

I'm getting better at trying to see the person behind the frown. They're probably just having a rough day. It's not all about me.
