The Sunlit Uplands
Actually, it's really the North side of the valley that's lit up. The suburb on the south side of the Slad Valley is Uplands, with its church of All Saints.
A and I went for a short, town walk this evening. She needed some 500.piece jigsaws for a client, and Catherine Cookson novels. We walked to the free library in Horns Road, but there weren't any there. We continued to the five ways junction , then up Bisley Road to a little path that leads to Bisley Old Road. Up there, we felt on top of the world! I snapped this view somewhere near the street called Middle Hill, then we continued downhill to tht Cotswold Playhouse, where there's a gate leading to a little park with a view over the Slad valley and Uplands. Returned home via Old Chapel drive and Horns Road again. A likes that I know the secret pathways.
Apart from that, I've mainly loafed around doing jigsaws and reading. Current book is Rosie, an autobiography by Rose Tremain. My early impressions are mixed. What's taking up my head space most of the time today is how my half brother and his sister (my half sister) have had such different lives from ours, in such very different circumstances. And our father is answerable to none of us, having departed this life in 2001. Of course, he was not what one would call accountable even in life...
Dinner is in the oven.. Another roasting tin recipe, this time with an Indonesian theme. Smells good so far.
