So We Have Cher, Dionne and Ty...

Meet Cher, one of three gorgeous ladies to join family Kit today. We had been poultry free for quite a few years after our last lot of chickens fell pray to the local rat population. But for the last few weeks, maybe in some subconscious bid to be more self sufficient, I have been wanting to replace our flock.

Mr Kit obviously felt it too as he rather randomly repaired our old chicken coop that was rotting at the bottom of the garden last week. So when a friend of mine put a shoutout on Facebook that she was collecting some ex-battery chickens and did any body want any, I put our name down. Mr Kit and Sushi spent all yesterday repairing the chicken run and cleaning it all up and our three new family members were delivered (at a safe social distance of course) this morning. They are looking rather bedraggled and it bit nervy, but I think with lots of good food, a warm perch, a bit of TLC and Sushi’s chicken whisperer ability, they will be regrowing their feathers and laying in no time.

In return for responsibility in looking after them, Sushi got to name them ...so we have Cher, Dionne and Ty...he says from they are from his favourite film, I think they sound more like a 60’s backing girl group!
