Ancient oak

Almost too busy for taking photographs today. As I was heading home, with the sun sinking fast, I diverted across one field to get a shot of this magnificent Oak tree. It is probably the oldest tree in the village, with its massive roots in the bank of a medieval earthwork. A silhouette seemed to be the best image for today, but I will return and capture it in different light and at other times of the year.
