Day 140/20 When It Goes Horribly Wrong
I’ve had this bird feeder for a few years and not had a bird IN the feeder before now. This young starling was stuck sideways in the feeder.
There was no room to manoeuvre him out. Fortunately my neighbour had wire cutters and strong hands, so I passed feeder and contents over the fence. Sunny managed to cut through each wire to cut the feeder in half. The starling’s head was then free. I then poked the wings free too and away he flew, up into a neighbouring tree. As he is no longer in the tree I guess he is more or less functioning normally.
What an exciting evening!
