Lockdown Day 57 - Stonechat

An opportunity to walk on the Chase while L was out riding.  I get the impression that the lower numbers of people visiting the Chase has resulted in the wildlife being a little more visible.  I was lucky to see this and even luckier to bump into a couple of people with binoculars who readily identified it as a male stonechat.  He hung around for a while, as well as a female (see extra).  It's interesting that in the avian species that it is the male that is more colourful.

It was a glorious day, and I stayed out a bit longer before joining L at the stables and an impromptu picnic sitting looking out on the paddocks.
