Hen Harrier

I’ve been trying to catch the male Hen Harrier for some time. They seem to appear around this time of year, then vanish after a few weeks.  I do wonder whether they are breeding here. It always seems to be just that bit too far away for a half-decent picture. Also, he glides across the fields, making it harder to capture him. I have loads of vague, off-in-the-distance pictures. Today, the thermals were obviously what he wanted. It allowed me to get a few of him soaring slowly. Still a fair distance, but enough for me to share this time.  Our neighbours have complained that their chickens have been attacked by Buzzards; I suggested that it may very well be this chap’s wife. Female Hen Harriers are almost identical to Buzzards, with the exception of a white bar across the rump. Still no sign of the Golden Orioles - even though we can hear them.
Extra pic is the neighbour’s goat sunbathing.
