Bull finch

We had just been on the front doorstep clapping for the keyworkers and had come back in and this fella was sitting on the fence. Such a lovely bird , could not see the female but I know she is around as she was up in the tree earlier.
Spent the day in the garden repotting, weeding and planting some more lettuce, verbena and a few herbs.pleased that the heavy rain all day did not appear.
The broad beans have started to flower and delighted that the Nasturtiums are doing well after taking ages to germinate.
Spotted a few nymphs by the pond so will keep an eye on them.
Nicola Sturgeon has announced that from next Thursday 28th May there will be a slow easing of the lockdown. All made perfect sense especially with the schools not returning until August 11th although special consideration given those starting Primary and Secondary schools but plenty of time to get a plan of action instead of rushing to open any earlier.
Great news as we will be able to meet others , not just one, from a different household , outside in gardens as well as parks keeping two metres apart still, so it means we can see David on his birthday :)
The tip and garden centres will open however I thought I would take advantage of the delivery service by Simpson’s and have ordered some things just incase they stop doing it.
Spent the rest of the day organising birthday cards and entering a photographic competition run by a local village and raising funds for the community.
It was my cousin Kevin’s 50th birthday. They were meant to be away to celebrate but looked like they had a great time at home with a BBQ and a homemade Casino which they dressed up for .
A beautiful sunset to end the day :)
