Shopping Day!
Got woken up by text messages at 6.02am informing myself and The Dopski that we are negative for COVID-19. What a relief!
As we were up early we went to do our supermarket shop early too. Only had a little queue, but oh my goodness, social distancing rules seem to have gone out of the window completely! People were pushing past, leaving their trolly and wandering around willy nilly etc. What is going on?! It is as though people think the virus has gone away!
The Dadski and I then drove over to a local farming supplies place to buy the new water troughs for the garden - whoop whoop! Now just got to wait for soil to be ordered to fill them!
Decided to have a sneaky afternoon nap outside. It was incredibly windy, but sunny, so I ‘sunbathed’ with a duvet and snoozed in the wind - brilliantly refreshing!
Mid afternoon my phone started pinging like mad because Derbyshire County Council finally issued their guidelines alongside the DfEs for opening up schools. Most of the schools in the county are small and are struggling to open up due to the 2m rules etc. The Derbyshire advice today has totally scuppered small schools to the point of saying they cannot see any Primaries being able to open up for Y6, Y1 and Rec (no shit Sherlock!). So......I then spent my evening writing yet another letter to parents saying that we now cannot offer their child a school place on the 1st June, as we need to redo all our risk assessments, re measure etc. Good grief.
Luckily, The Dadski created a fantastic tea and we laughed a lot to the first series of Miranda to end the day on a high.
....and breathe!
