Walked Misty on a track  by a disused canal this morning.  The canal used to go from Port Carlisle into Carlisle back in the day!  Anyhow when its very windy its a good place to walk as there are natural wind breakers .  Its also part of the Hadrian's Wall trail some 84 miles long.  Only locals using it at the moment.  At this time of year its usually quite busy.   Anyhow I spotted this wildflower in the hedge and have tried to find out what it is... think its a Dame's Violet / Hesperis matronal violet.  I think it will look good in my wilderness.
