Another day ends without a blip. This is a room with a view. A view of; My new Electric Piano, an old piece of music I found to play, the washing drying, some plants in from the cold nights, spare books to read. What would I do without a spare bedroom?
The days seem to fly by. I made a nice batch of scones this morning. I’ve never had much luck with them but this batch was light and tasty. I cut up some dates, as I really wanted date scones, but forgot to put them into the dough at the last minute. Oh well.
I also raked a huge amount of leaves from the plane trees out into the street. I hope the wind doesn’t blow them all back in overnight. The Council street sweeper comes and takes them away but they don’t seem to have a regular day to come. I knitted another beanie for Maddy as the first one didn’t turn out very well. I didn’t have a pattern and it was way too big. This one seems better.
That’s about it. A busy day doing nothing important. All schools in our state have the kids back full time tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how the public transport copes with the extra people and social distancing rules. Our grandchildren walk or get driven so no problems for them. I think our state had one new Covid case over the past 24 hours. Most new cases are from returning travellers. They go into mandatory quarantine for two weeks in a hotel after arriving in the country. That seems to have been a good strategy but pretty awful to be cooped up in a hotel room for 14 days. Better than a bed in hospital ICU I guess.
