Stormy Weather Day 2.

The wind became very much stronger overnight, We had very heavy rain. Everything seems to have survived although there is quite a lot of leaf litter lying on the ground. Three of our diamond shaped windows have succumbed to the wind, and will have to be renewed.

No great surprise, as they are nearly 180 years old and the glass is often no more than 1mm thick.

Everything very much comes to a halt when the electricity supply stops just as we are about to have lunch.  After checking to see that it is not a problem with our internal supply, Pat calls the emergency line, who assure us we will have power back on within the hour.

We did for about two seconds. A second fault had been uncovered.

After many false attempts at power about to come on, power is  eventually restored at 8:00 p.m.

Virtually everything requires electrical power to function these days, apart from the water supply and  traditional books.

We read and enjoyed cold drinks. Many of the activities we had planned to do were put on hold. However, we also enjoyed reading which I prefer to eBooks.

After power was restored, and various clock controls were reset our computers and other devices started to communicate with each other. Normal was soon resumed.

There are distinct signs that the economy is stirring back into life although a great amount of activity will be of the virtual variety.

The Blipfoto shows our Copper Beach being blown about by the wind.
