Our friend’s mum unexpectedly passed away yesterday. He called with the sad news late evening. She lives abroad so we hadn’t met, but he sent a lovely photo of her with his late father.

Went out around 09:00, passed this grand old pine (thousands around here) on the way back. Sunny warm and breezy. Fine weather set to continue all week.

Covid cases slowly but steadily going down. Especially apparent in London for a couple of weeks now.

Sitting on the balcony, windows open, but falling asleep. Maybe I’ll doze off for a few minutes. Maybe when I awake the endless debate about whether Boris’s top aide Dominic Cumming’s should resign or no, will have concluded.
