My mother grew these and now most of her descendants have them growing in their gardens. I have at least six plants but they tend to come up where ever they want so I might have more.
She was very proud of her success in getting them to flower. Every year she would ask me how many flower heads I had and, without exception she had more; even when I came up with a very large and totally dishonest number she still beat me.
Today has been the first time since the beginning of this Covid 19 mess that I have got really angry with the politicians. All through this crisis I think they were trying to do the best they could with no previous experience of this type of problem. Today they revert to normal, twisting words, slithering away for direct answers and loosing the trust of the people who have tried so hard to do the right thing, no matter the personal cost. So angry
