Sunday Baby

A pretty quiet day doing this and that. We did a couple loads of wash. It still feels funny to do laundry on a Sunday, as though Sunday were still a day of rest as it was when I was a kid; the house all cleaned and no racing around outside, at least not until after church, and an earlier and bigger than usual deal for dinner.
Hanging clothes on the line is best done slowly with a lot of gazing up into the tall locust trees that are almost fully leafed out now. I like watching them early in the season as they go from bud to bloom and while you can easily see bird and squirrel activity.
Later, we drove to Overlook Park so I could sit and draw, then we picked up dinner from Thai Cottage and after eating, walked over to the Benson House to look at the river. A number of others had the same idea, but we all were careful of distance; very pleasant.
But, no matter what else went on today, the very big deal was waiting for my niece Melissa to give birth. Yesterday, she was induced a couple weeks early, because she is type 1 diabetic, and was finally delivered at 7:30 this evening when they did a C section. All is well and sweet pictures keep coming. His name is Benedict Basil.
