Bermondsey Central Hall 1910 and now

First of all a thank you for the birthday greetings yesterday. I will get back to you individually tomorrow. I have to own up I did not make the cake it came from the shops.

Went for a walk around the back streets again today and have been meaning to do this for ages. On a wall is a set of black and white images from the early 20th century. So today’s Blip is of the old Central Hall as it looks today. Looked a grand building but it’s character has been ruined by the glass windows in the arch. Will try another couple in the near future.

Southwark is now down to 31st in the number of virus cases. At the outset our Borough was 4th. Whilst I am pleased we have seen this drop other areas have really suffered. The rate per 100,000 in Barrow looks awful at over 900 cases. Would be nice to see some proper analysis of this distribution and the potential reasons but Johnson seems to have enough problems keeping track of his team let alone Tracking the virus. However it will all change on 1st June. Stay safe
