Up on the moors
Black Dubs monument, on the moors between Orton and Crosby Ravensworth. It's a strange feature in quite a desolate area, marking the source of the river Livennet and marking the spot where King Charles II 'regaled his army and drank of the water on his march from Scotland, August 8th 1651'.
A sunny morning, no-one about, but the wind was cold and again quite strong.
Extra shows a frog orchid found on a roadside verge near Orton.
