Chobham Cannon
This is the Chobham Cannon. It commemorates the visits paid by Queen Victoria to the Great Camp on Chobham Common in 1853. The Great Camp was an encampment of soldiers bound for the Crimea. The original cannon was melted down for use in armaments during the Second World War in 1942. It was replaced in 1979.
