An outing!
Nine weeks since we've been into Kirkwall, but today we ventured in because we needed petrol. Nearly 40 miles round trip, but it is the nearest filling station!
Sadly we couldn't buy hen food, it has to be delivered at £5 an order, so we'll see if anyone else wants any. We did manage to get our washing up and laundry liquid containers refilled at Shearer's and I also managed to pay a cheque into the bank using the hole in the wall.
I nipped into Tesco's for a wine box. My first experience of social distancing and one way traffic in a supermarket. ("social standing" as one shop referred to it!) I saw they had lots of plants outside so bought a bougainvillea too. At the weekend we got a delivery of bedding plants from the local nursery, but this was so much more exotic and just the thing for the satsumary!
It felt strange and exciting to be in town, but we were glad to be safe at home again! We hadn't missed it at all!
