7 sunny miles

A fellow Blipper mentioned making quiche which reminded me of a lovely Delia caramelised onion tart, so I made one today, as I was roasting some elderly veg.

Ella WhatsApped to ask Mr C what he wanted for his birthday. Only 8 and already finding men are difficult to buy for. She showed us Nathaniel sitting on the back door step, reading his book - with his feet in a bowl of water. Apparently he’s hoping he’ll be like the plants in the allotment - water them so they’ll grow.

An hour WhatsApp with Marion who was upset as a friend (under 60) had been rushed to hospital with a massive brain bleed. So distressing for family who can’t visit.

Chopping onions, listening to early Elvis while still fuming about the puppeteer pulling BJ’s strings, had the expected result. So we headed out for a walk last done about a month ago. We headed to the old railway line where the bluebells were still flowering as it is cool and dark there. We then went up over open hillside - on the bottom right our house can be seen in the distance, and eventually hauled ourselves up the last hill home. We were hot and tired, but felt better.

We are going to have a G&T. We won’t drive to Barnard Castle to check if we are too pissed to drive.
