It's a dirty job, butt......

"It's a dirty job but someone has to do it" is usually said in jest when a job is quite enjoyable, even sensational. 
In this case it is a very dirty, heavy, job. Every few years I lift the water butt from it's cage to empty the sludge that gathers in the bottom and clean it out. I manage to empty it until there is only a couple of inches of water in the bottom, still heavy but I'm not yet too old to manage it.
1 - Remove the water feed from the drain pipe.
2 - Take the lid off
3 - Lift the butt out and carry it to the wall where the trees grow
4 - Lift onto the top of the wall
5 - Butt rolls along the wall, falling to the ground and covering me in very smelly sludgey water
6 - clean it out and put it back, reconnect the pipe, lid and cage cover
7 - have a shower after Marlane noticed the smell!
