Demoiselle

We went for an early evening walk along the riverbank to look at the mayflies and ended up spending most of the time sitting down watching the large numbers of damselflies going about their business. I don't think I've seen demoiselles flying before, and I'm sure I'd have remembered as they resemble biplanes when they do. There's a picture of the wings (flapping rather than flying) in Extras, if of interest. I also discovered that they have a penchant for nettles - and I have the stings on both legs to prove it!
