Chalk and cheese!
I did my 20 lengths this morning... Hang on, I hear you say - you were doing 30 lengths, this is not an improvement.
Well, *she says, smugly* it IS an improvement. I did 20 lengths in the Commie Pool. Which is 50 metres, not 25 metres! Which means I did 40 lengths of the wee pool and, oh... er... lots and lots of metres!
JR dropped me off at the crack of dawn (it's on the way) and I had a fiddle around in the Park with my camera and tripod, trying to get light trails of the constant stream of traffic. But I really needed to be up higher. I did go up higher, and muddier, but it got too cold to hang around for long.
The Commie Pool feels like a dream now. Was I really there, in that beautiful water, with plenty of room, and wonderful changing facilities? It was like... like... being in a huge luxury sparsely populated swimming pool after being used to a wee overcrowded local council swimming pool. Exactly.
As I came into the pool there was a sign saying, 'No non swimmers or weak swimmers past this point'. I hesitated a bit - I'm a swimmer, and definitely not a strong swimmer - but then I boldly walked on.
At one point, I had the whole Slow Lane to myself. It was just about as much water in my lane as in the whole of the local pool! I really really enjoyed it. But boy! I was puggled at the end of each length.
I was Very Puggled after 20 lengths. I felt light headed and wobbly legged. Or was it wobbly headed and light legged? Whatever, I fancied a sit down and a coffee, and possibly a bacon bap in the Pool cafe.
But then I looked out of the window and I saw the Crags, glowing in the sun, with the sky very very dark behind them. I love light like that. The bacon bap, coffee and wobbly legs were forgotten and I rushed outside to try to get a shot.
For this shot of the end of the Crags, I had to stand in the middle of the road, briefly.
Back home now. Housework chores done. I intend lying on the sofa and read my Kindle camera manual. I had a wee read yesterday and discovered all sorts of tricky things to do with buttons I never really use. I may crack open that wine I photographed yesterday, as it's Friday.
