Porch Peonies

The rain took its toll on the peonies and I saw that there were only two left that still had a bit of life.  I cut them and put them in this tiny vase and put it on the coffee table on the porch, where I spend most of my leisure time these days.  For about 24 hours they looked lovely and then started to drop all their petals.   Watching the petals fall gave me a closer look at the amazing layers that make up a peony flower. 

We have ordered a new hammock for the porch and some colorful throw pillows for the chairs and loveseat.  A mini-make-over for what we jokingly call our summer home.
