Don’t go chasing
Waterfalls
Up with the lark this morning, dogs in the car and breakfast packed, we set off at 7 30 am to May Beck for our walk.
Parked in an empty car park and headed on a magical walk through the trees and arrived at the beautiful Falling Foss waterfalls. The spectacular falls drop some 20metres into the river below.
After stopping for some photos we carried on up through the woodland, our feet crunching on a thick carpet of beech nut shells, we returned via Midge hall an 18th century former gamekeepers cottage now a lovely tearoom (closed of course). Our walk back took us along side of the Beck where Mr P C had a go on a rope swing, we then spotted a yellow wagtail (see extra).
We arrived back at the car park - now about a dozen or so cars. We settled down on a bench and had our bacon butties which I shared with a lovely little Chaffinch.( second extra)
We arrived back home about 11.30 and spent the remainder of the day in the garden.

Disgusting behaviour of day trippers at Goathland on the bank holiday, leaving shed loads of rubbish for the locals to clean up.
