Lion Dance

Had a rather busy day today which thankfully has come to an end, looking forward to greeting my bed tonight!

Went out on a 'girly' night to watch Les Miserables again, this time in the Director's Club, which is a cinema that has fewer seats that ALL recline. You also get served your soft drink and popcorn/ snacks in your seat. Just what you need for a 3 hr movie. Really enjoyed it again, for a second time.

We were a bit early for our movie so had a walk around the shopping centre, Elements, and couldn't resist taking a few pictures of the huge lions display. Lion dances are traditionally held at gatherings during Chinese New Year ( CNY) as they ward off evil spirits and protect the new year. Usually also performed by Kung Fu students and dances can be quite athletic. They really are very entertaining and the drumming can be fast or slow depending on what the lion is chasing. All in all, very entertaining and always very colourful.

I was thrilled to see a lot of pink in this display! Pleased me no end!!!!
