Will I? Won't I?

Entering a writing competition is a bit like buying a lottery ticket. You hope to win, but you know that the odds are heavily stacked against you. Every so often I chuck my hat into the ring, because if you never buy a ticket, you will never win. So I've spruced up a couple of stories, and plan to enter them in different competitions.
