Dappled light
I don't want to complain about warm sunlight, but it does make it difficult to get separation from the background; most of the flowers I tried to photograph needed shutter times less than 1/8000, which is as far as my camera's mechanical shutter goes. This one was in dappled light which was useful in letting me shoot wide open at 1/2000. I suppose I could have used the electronic shutter - didn't think of that.
