Perfect peonies

These are from a bush that started life over 30 years ago as a cutting from my in-laws. Dad Simpson was very proud of his peony bush at the back door, which he fed religiously on tea leaves and which produced some amazing blooms, at least twice the size of these. That's the standard I'm aspiring to. Maybe next year, as at the moment these have survived on years of neglect. The colour as captured on the phone is not quite right. They are more purply red and more intense but you get the gist.
