Lesson in Oak!

Here we go:

Oaks are generally slow growing trees of imposing stature and live to be an incredible age.

Oak is said to be the preferred wood used by carpenters and cabinet makers for use in panelling, doors and furniture.

Beautiful cupboards, tables and chairs were made of oak and due to the wood's durability, many of these have survived down through the centuries.

It is also said that the oak tree was the primary focus of worship by the ancient Druids, as they believed that it was the first tree created by God and its fruit, the acorn, was the first food of mankind.
