1995. Meeting at long last!
Finally got to meet up with my middle step daughter and her partner today..in the park..social distancing...had a wee snack and a bottle of water..which we each brought ourselves and sat on a huge blanket which enabled us to do the whole 2m apart.
Hubby picked up a stick and decided to do the whole Harry Potter thing which made us all laugh....
Things are better with one of my spinning plates this morning...a friend called on them at 7:30am, got them up and out for a walk..had a long chat and hopefully they will manage to keep things under control for a while longer...it’s so hard for them....
My eldest is signed off for two weeks with acute anxiety...not surprising for any frontline NHS staff really....but they’re doing ok...trying to avoid watching the news and spending some time in the sunshine relaxing.
My youngest is doing ok too at the moment so it looks as though things have settled down a bit..who knows for how long but I’ll enjoy the peace whilst it’s here.
If the good weather holds up we’re going to try a picnic with each of them once a day so that we can enjoy some time together...it will make such a difference...assuming that things remain stable on the old infection rate front.
I have to say that I was appalled at the lack of social distancing whilst walking into town..in previous weeks people walking together have dropped into single file when passing anyone (as have we) but today not one single person bothered....I really don’t understand this attitude as surely not everyone can be so dim witted that they don’t understand even the basics by now?
My eldest step daughter has still not ventured out at all as she is so afraid of catching the virus because of her underlying health condition but she will have to try to get out and out about again soon, she’s not shielded just having to be cautious but I can see how fear can develop into a real problem for people on her position.
