Peony

We had a sloping bank of these plants for many years until I got fed up with the flowers falling apart due to either wind or rain, possibly both, and I tried getting rid of them. The corms are huge and quite deep and last year I thought I had been successful as nothing grew. This year two plants have reappeared with just this one flower and as the weather has been calm it looks like staying intact.
Went to the farmshop today a pleasant drive out but I am in trouble, I didn’t buy strawberries - thought they were on Tedwin’s list, well he was getting the ice-cream.
