Interrupted while eating fresh leaves
Today we have come north to the beach house at Snells. This is the first time since before the lockdown. The lockdown delayed the workers who were replacing water damaged flooring and others who were repairing water damage elsewhere. All secondary to vermin chewing through plastic pipes.
It was a pleasant drive north and mid afternoon I went down to South End of Snells Beach to take photos of the waders. None was inspired, nor inspiring. When I got back, I heard a tui or three and tried for a shot. too active and soon left. As I turned to go up the driveway, my attention was caught by a kereru (NZ wood pigeon) in a tree at the roadside edge of the section.
Kereru tend to be very slow moving and relaxed as long as humans move slowly and don't get too close. It had clearly seen me by the time I got this photo, but it remained there and resumed eating.
