Scottish Government sanctioned social interaction

As of today, in Scotland members of two households are allowed to meet outdoors. We took advantage of this relaxation of the lockdown rules to enjoy pre-dinner drinks with Katharine and Jack in their garden. As Katharine insisted that we sat in the sun while she brought out the drinks and snacks, it dawned on me how much I have missed being looked after by another person (apart from Mr hazelh, of course).

We enjoyed a wonderful 90 minutes together, glasses in hand, catching up on news and appreciating the physical company of one another. Jack told us about his illness at the start of the lockdown period. Although not tested at the time, he's pretty sure that he's had Covid19.

After this wee cocktail party, Mr hazelh and I cycled back home for the regular Friday night Skype call with my family, initiated by Mummy hazelh this time - she has clearly now reached the advanced level of video conferencing! Then we ate our curry outside in our front area (yard).

Earlier in the day, I enjoyed my morning walk (Holyrood in the heat), shopped for orzo and okra, then settled down for an afternoon of email, scheduling, and reference writing.

With the sunshine set to continue and permission to socialise (albeit in a limited way), we have a fun weekend planned.

Exercise today: walking (16,899 steps); short cycle ride to K&J's (4 miles).
