Faces of Bedford
Early start today with man flu taking hold as well. Went to the airport with J to have breakfast with her before she flew to London. My flight to Stanstead was an hour later.
Met a colleague from work and had an uneventful flight down. Picked up the hire car and made our way to see a supplier in Bedford.
Felt like crap most of the day with the cold but had a good meeting with the company.
Went out in Bedford for dinner and an early night. While walking around we found these two faces lit up.
These are 'The faces, located in Silver Street, cost £100,000, and are the work of artist Rick Kirby, who has named the piece Reflections Of Bedford.
The design work has been influenced by references to Bedford and, in particular, the history of lace-making locally, as well as recognising Silver Street as the historical site of a mint in the 10th and 11th centuries.
At night, the sculpture will change in appearance through the use of coloured spots with lights set in the ground, illuminating the piece.'
