Since you’ve been gone. View after the tree.

This afternoon Mr. C and I went for a short walk.  We walked to the site of the old castle.  In a direct line on the opposite side of the valley is the new castle, however the council have cut down a tree at some time and the view I have taken is of the tree stump, Kendal with the river curving through.  The fells in the far background are Shap.  
We count ourselves as being incredibly lucky to live in this beautiful area.
