Favourite ball

A few days ago Merlin found a ball on his walk.  It is his favourite thing and insists on taking it nearly everywhere he goes.  I think he especially likes the rough texture of the outside of the ball and that there is something inside that rattles around as he plays with it.  Here is sunbathing on the lawn with it.

A very warm day today - around 25 degrees.  I spent a few hours at the allotment this morning but even then it was really too warm for me to feel comfortable digging and planting.  The allotment site was as busy as I have ever seen it.  

After rest and some lunch, I did some cleaning and washed the car.  Then I made some apricot rock cakes - one of which I have enjoyed for dessert this evening!
