Cow bells
At the end of winter in Switzerland, there is a day when many of the cows who spend the summer in high pastures start the journey up in to the mountains. This is often a tourist event but this year, due to COVID-19, people were not allowed to take part.
Imagine our delight that during a bike ride this morning, near Lac de Chavonnes, we came across a herd on their way up. Despite the lack of onlookers the cows were wearing their (heavy) ornate bells, only worn on these special days, and the farmers were in their traditional dress. It was fabulous to see and we couldn’t believe how lucky we were with our timings. The extras show more cows and Lac de Chavonne.
A big thanks to everyone for their messages, stars and hearts for yesterday’s alpine scene. We are blessed to live in such a wonderful place.
